The EMSYH region was successful in its application for funds to support the on-going support of NLGs across the newly-expanded region. This means that the arrangements we have recently started to create can be continued for the year ahead and start to become embedded. What this is means is:
A small group NLG Local Co-ordinators (deployed within Partnership/SRIB areas) will work for around 10 additional days per year to support the work of NLGs in their area. They will provide a network of support, provide induction for new NLGs, liaise with Teaching Schools to make sure NLG work is planned effectively and have an eye on the quality assurance of NLG deployments. For the East Midlands sub region these have now been appointed: Sarah Armitage (Derby and Derbyshire), John Bowers (Nottingham and Nottinghamshire), Suzanne Uprichard (Leicester, Leicestershire Rutland) and Roger Moore (Lincolnshire). The recruitment process is currently underway for NLG Local Co-ordinators for the South Yorkshire and Humber sub-region.
Our EMSYH NLG Champion Jane Lewis will then work on a region-wide basis for around 20 days over the year to co-ordinate and quality assure the overall NLG arrangements.
